Haven't played it yet but from the sound of things, is her brother a villain or something? Sounds like he fucked up her only chance at a journey she'll ever get due to his own ego or something. You can only be a trainer once before you have to settle down and become a normal salaryman. And he made it so she wouldn't make any real bonds out of her journey and everyone would instantly dislike her due to her annoying fans.
