>LGPEThe first Switch Pokemon game, but it's ANOTHER gen 1 remake that feels shallower than the original gameboy games.
It being based on GO was sign of the rampant casualization to come, if the previous games didn't tip you off already.
It was considered a spinoff and we were told the next game would be for longtime fans.
That put hope in some, but most of us had a feeling that those words would not ring true...
>SwShHere we are, at last. The first mainline Switch Pokemon game.
New console, better technology, the chance to win back the crowd and really show what they can do.
And it's the worst one in the whole series.
It still visually looks like shit despite being on more powerful machine. Fuck, LGPE looks better than this.
The online is somehow even worse than SM's festival plaza.
The Wild Area is a good idea in concept, but horribly executed.
The story is barely there and gets ridiculously rushed towards the end, and the worst villain motivation I've seen from the series.
There's barely any postgame.
The game as a whole, despite being for "longtime fans" is the easiest one to date.
With EXP share permanently on it's very, VERY easy to overlevel and steamroll the game.
Fuck, I could go on...
There's just so much here that shows how incompetent Game Freak is and how a lot of there faults could be hidden away or downplayed because the previous games were on handheld.
They cut so many corners, skimp out on so many things, and that's because GF themselves or TPCi feels the need to have yearly releases.
If they would just take their time, make the models and environments look good, make sure everything worked, just general polish, the games would be a hell of a lot better.
But they won't. No need
People will still buy the games in droves simply because it's pokemon and flock to defend GF like their lives depended on it.
The series is at rock bottom but will keep diving to the end.
We knew it'd be bad, but we didn't think it'd be THIS bad.
