Fans have no standards, and the few fans that do have standards are fucking addicts. Seriously, everyone I've spoken with who had issues with SWSH said they were still getting it because they couldnt bear missing a game.

Pokemon has been shit since it went 3D but because everyone has the commies for it, it sells gangbusters anyway.

The only thing you lose by buying the game while still being aware of it's shit quality is your dignity. You've gotta live with how much of a shameless addict you are and how you are a part of the problem.

It's never going to get better, but you have to make the choice between eating the slop or moving on.

Serious question, does buying used actually hurt gamefreak? I can see buying used from gamestop or whatever, but aren't most early used listings online just the usual Nintendo scalpers hoping to cash in on a popular brand? Absolutely not happening. The last time a Pokémon game outsold a Mario Kart game on the same platform was on the GBA. Mario Kart consistently obliterates Pokémon in terms of sales and there's nothing to indicate that this is going to change now.
Basically you should consider Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's sales numbers the absolute maximum amount that Sword & Shield could possibly sell.

Again, projections at this point are damn near worthless. If lifetime sales directly correlated with launch sales then the list of best selling games would look completely different.

Buying used has a lower effect on increasing sales but it's there.
When there's a high demand on used product then the price of the used product vs the new product remain close together enough that many will just buy new.

This is why Nintendo games don't go down in price. If there were any abundance of used copies of Nintendo games, then Nintendo would feel pressured and they'd lower the MSRP. This happens with some lower selling Nintendo games, but usually people just hold onto the games and don't sell their used copies, meaning the price remains static.

Only absolute brainlets believe buying used has no positive effect on actual sales. It isn't the equivalent of buying a copy new, but it has a far more positive impact than pirating or not even playing something
