I'm a /v/ tourist, apparently you decided to invade the other board more than usual, and got me interested in buying this game. I've never played pokemon before, but since you can start from the latest entry I bought it. And here I am, being OP here for the first time. Now, why the hell this fucking nigger doesn't have a voice actor? Is everyone like this? Really? It feels super awkward to see him talking without hearing anything

Yes, the games do that weird thign where mouth movement is animated, sometimes clearly with a specific sound in mind, but no voice work was done.

The one problem I have with the game in the beginning so far is that you can't fish for that torpedo fish, I see it swim right next to the fishing spot but only Chewtle is showing up. I think that's stupid. I like how everything in the game is given to you right off the bat like the box and fishing rod and camping shit

If you've never played the older games you don't know what you're missing. Pokemon used to be about going on an adventure on your own with only your monsters to rely on, fighting to be the best. Now Pokemon is about going on a safe amusement park ride with your friends. Swoshi has some good points, but it's not the same. Play any of the games on Gameboy to DS. 3D was a mistake.

I didn't try fishing yet, I'll look into it rn

Still, I've played the game a bit. Graphically a mess, and every 2 steps I get stopped by a nigger or 2. Still, quite enjoyable, my bunny evolved and is now hooded, and I've got some new pokemons too. Best thing is the monsters, I really like them, but I kinda hate some attack animations and the characters

Pokemon is infamous for having the most "only plays one kind of game" fanbase there is out there, they won't even touch Pokemon spinoffs

If you want a good Pokemon experience play heart gold or soul silver. That was back when they put effort into their games. Of course they aren't exactly the best graphically but god damn are they better quality as an overall game
Also pokemon has never had voice acting and it's going to stay that way. This is a self insert game where characters (at least before 3D Pokemon started being a thing) were intentionally written in archetypes such that you the player characterized them yourself thereby making each player have a more unique experience and attitude. The mouth movements are valid criticism though. They could at least add zelda-esque grunts and sighs if they're going to be animating mouths.
