Definitely. Been playing since red/blue, sometimes I waste time chasing pokedex entries, sometimes I fight a round of battle tower or two, but I personally never gave two shits about post game

Actually it proves that most people don't read about a game before buying it, especially not one with such a powerful brand.

What's actually going to happen is that a lot of people won't buy the next Pokémon. Brands as powerful as this won't just die from a bad game. They'll slowly die if they keep making saturated shit.

Go watch a normie review, especially one by a female. They barely even care about the fights. Pokemon is a merchandise series, the postgame only appeases 1% of the fanbase. Transferring Pokemon forward is something only 1% of the fanbase does. Having a challenge is only something 1% of the fanbase cares about. Pokemon can do anything because it has a similar effect to sports games where people play it for the hell of it.

About 8 million are people who buy every single Pokemon game without question, and 2 million are people who but the starter games only.
The rest comes from reception of the game over the months from people who want to know if they should or shouldn’t buy it.

Postgame is more than just battle facilities. I have to explore every corner of the map, but then I put the game down. I had a blast with the R/S contest halls, but if I want to battle I'd just go to Showdown - and who can be fucked to catch 'em all, really?

Unfortunately S/S have no postgame routes or exploration, few minigames and side activities, and a shell of a battle tower. Everyone is left hungry.
