...Why don't they just send Gyarados, Ditto, and Hawlucha to ubers? Maybe FerroPex too. Why are they honestly considering banning an entire fucking mechanic because of like three Pokemon?

Other hyper-offensive Pokemon will just take their place.
And when they get banned, the cycle will repeat looking for more and more Pokemon to ban due to the benefits Dynamxaing brings until all that's left are six Pokemon exactly, and then they just ban Dynamax anyway because it generates "too big" a power gap among those six.

a mix between "banning a pokemon will indirectly buff pokemon that the banned pokemon couintered/checked, which may lead to a repetition of the problem we just had" and "instead of banning 3-5 pokemon that are made really good by a silly gimmick, why don't we just ban the single gimmick"

Tbh battling in this meta without Dynamax sounds boring as fuck. This meta is so gutted with nothing cool left. If I wanted to go back to gen 5 style battles I would.

Smogon absolutely despises anything that allows you to set up and not get pseudo hazed out.after they switch in the appropriate wall and have built up this ridiculous idea of "stall balance hyper offense" as a triangle which doesn't actually exist in the game and shouldn't be treated like something that has to be preserved.

Don't act as if Excadrill and Togekiss aren't also busted.

Ferropex isn't even that good and only shitters complain about it.

Ditto is one of the few things holding this shit together. Literally the Lando-T of this gen.

Because a mechanic that can be used by any vaguely offensive mon for 3 lite-Z-moves and free stat boosts has the potential to be busted on more than just Gyarados and Hawlucha, and just axing Dynamax out of the gates is better than cyclically banning the new god sweeper every few months. There's already a sizable group of players that thinks not banning Z-moves was a mistake.

It's not unthinkable that even if you axe Gyarados/Hawlucha/Ditto, another good abuser will take its place and be just as dumb. Hell, Ditto is almost necessary for safety against Dynamax and yet it itself can pull off big countersweeps with Dynamax.
