>>41408980I was watching Digimon recently for the first time.
>Adventure (1)It was way better than I was expecting, for the number of characters that the show had, they all received a surprisingly amount of depth and attention each, even Hikari which was the last one introduced.
It's truly an Adventure, the way the digital world is presented with the visuals, the stakes and everything, I kept me wanting more and more.
>Adventure 02Mostly a new cast of characters, I understand what some anons meant by saying that it's not as good (tho it still was better than I expected), I couldn't get invested in Daisuke or Iori, I think Ken and Miyako are probably the best newcomers, Miyako did a lot of questionable over the show things, but I think there's certainly a depth/realism to her, Ken had an interesting arc, episode 23 with his interal conflict and redemption is pretty kino for example. Hikari and Takeru were the stars of the show to me, Hikari still maintains her personality and mysterious dynamic (she was my favorite of the original season, so I was initially worried about that), and Takeru goes through a very natural evolution of character imo and had very good moments, it's fun to see what all the older characters are up to. Overall the main plot is pretty messy and not as strong as the first season, but I still think it was was worth it, there were many good episodes, but it's more hit and miss.
>TamersStill 3 episodes in, but I'm already hooked, there's certainly a tone change going from 02 to Tamers, but it's definitively not the "bad kind", I can tell it's going to be solid.
To anons that have no idea what Digimon is: Watch the anime, even if you dislike the Ashnime, Digimon is NOTHING like it, I recommend with subs though, the files I downloaded had dual audio and the english audio/music/sound effects seemed to change the tone completely, so even if you saw a random episode on TV when you were a kid and thought it was "bad", give it another chance now.
