I suppose mega evolutions and Z-Moves (which aren't quite as broken as Dynamax despite their centralizing tendencies) could also be allowed in a separate format as well. I dislike how almost all the Battle Frontier facilities were just "Battle Tower but with X", but I could give it another chance if they were actually made more distinct.
From there, I would prefer that they begin adding new type combinations that haven't been done yet, expanding the usefulness of existing ones (e.g. make Ice-types have resistances worth a damn), and generally focus on improving what's already present instead of adding in novelties out of the misplaced fear that nobody will like the base system unless it gets a new gimmick every ten.
Oh, and make it so Bottle Caps can be used starting at level 50 rather than level 100. Nobody could grind their way up to the latter at an acceptable speed until this gen, and even in that case it's only possible because or all the EXP candies raids give out.
>>41415921Megas had potential on paper, but in practice their distribution was skewed towards Pokemon who didn't need any power boosts in the first place. Most of the ones who got megas only received them because they were popular or pseudo-legendaries.
