There will be two Lucario so you can have a level 40+ one before fighting Maylene and another later on that has powers on par with the legendary Dialga and Palkia and is destined to save them from themselves with its Gigantamax form.

And then you'll receive that one too, but not in battle, because it's such good friends with the one you already received.
