To be honest I thought infinite use TMs were overpowered. You get a good one with wide distribution and it makes the game too easy. Shame SwSh is piss easy anyway, but the concept of TRs is a good one. They shoud make it so 90% of TMs are post game only for the sake of teambuilding and you only get TMs like protect in the maingame with the rest of the moves being TRs.

This is only a problem if they hand you earthquake before the first gym. TM placement is the issue, not TM reuse.

They're easy as fuck to get and lead to some good moves being made available like Close Combat, Dragon Dance, (T)Spikes, etc. Making them work like previous TMs was a game balance decision.

If anything they're more like move tutors which nobody complains about. You were limited to only one TM per game with the old system and had to cheat or trade to get another TM.

This is one of the best changes in this gen.

TMs still exist but are not highly sought after moves.
Move tutors replaced with TRs, which have to be rationed more carefully but unlike older games can be obtained more than once and without too much effort to be frustrating. Also tied to raids so the use of a tr on a new mon used to go on and battle/obtain more raids and TRs snowballs intuitively.

Ideally TMs would be single use before you beat the game (they wouldn't fade from your inventory, just be grayed out and disabled), then in postgame you get a key item or something like the CD RW or whatever that turns TMs to infinite use.

Calm down you weirdo, I said in my post TMs are less powerful moves but still exist so the system of repeat usage exists, but the TRs are for the stuff you really need. The good part is you can get them again in more raids or spend watts which are not hard to get at all.

I've already got two teams ready for online in the first week. Raids make it easy to get good shit by handing you candies, moves, and good IV mons. The grind is still there, but it's so effortless and quick that it's almost nonexistent.

Getting the correct TR is your problem. Each den has a specific type, so just find the den that contains the type of your desired TR.
