What is the status of fans in Japan? Are they still resentful about the DEX cut? Surely Nintendo has heard us by now but is trying to play cool

Pissed but bought it anyways, that's why the domesticated meme exists. But the sales have been slipping in Japan since XY, so all is not well in the homeland. The games are compensating by performing well overseas instead.

I finished Storm Silver (An improved Romhack) weeks ago and had so much fucking fun playing it, the amount of content the game has is ridiculous
I remember reaching the 45 hour mark and still being just about to enter the Indigo League. Truly the best Pokemon game of all time

Likely

Old example but the reason why Twilight Princess was made was because The Wind Waker flopped in Japan (first time a Zelda game flopped there btw) and the Western side saved the game sales but disliked the cel shaded style.

Turner did work with GS on some of the pokemon spin-offs, including being one of the lead designers for Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. Genius Sonority is not dead, anon is just being retarded. Their last project was in 2017, and their workforce is around 22 people.

Nintendo owns part of the brand. If I remember correctly Nintendo has publishing rights, TPC does merchandising, and Gamefreak has exclusive rights and control over the games. Nintendo can't force them to do anything to the games, but they can probably strongarm them by threatening to not publish the games. Big N is our only real chance at this point. Gamefreak clearly cares nothing for their brand, but nintendo especially recently has been focused on quality, and pokemon getting so much bad press reflects badly on them. In an ideal world they'll buy the rights off of Gamefreak and make an inhouse game for gen 9.

The Dex cut is not even the biggest problem SwSh have and it's still the best Pokemon game in years. The Dex cut was inevitable. It was unsustainable, no other monster collecting series does that. Focus on pressuring GameFreak to actually revamp the graphics, the gameplay, the menus and all the things that actually feel like remnants of decades past. Because if all they hear is complaints about the Dex cut they won't fix the things they actually could fix but are complacent not fixing because they aren't hearing complaints about them

The Five Stages of Grief are pseudo-science. It's not real. Even its creator has renounced it. Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance are all different ways you can feel about something. But they're not "stages" where you'll go through one after the other. You can accept it right away. You can be depressed and have your depression turn to anger. Your anger can just disappear without accepting what happened.

I agree with this sentiment. While most people complaining here are complaining about the lack of features as a whole, the only part of the outrage that rhe wider fanbase is echoing and that the average joe (and possibly also nintendo) ever heard is about the pokedex cut, and maybe something about animations.
Those getting improved would be nice, yes but it doesn't address the structural and design philosophy problems that have plagued Pokémon since Gen 6.

Why are so many shill trannies so very, very ignorant about the progression of technology? Including 1000 Pokemon now would be far, far easier than sticking 150 onto a Gameboy cart..... Doubly so when all the design work, modeling, and textures were already done in past games.
