It also has a low catch rate so if you don’t catch it you have to do the process all over again considering you’re not cheesing it with exploits.

It’s a lot of soft resetting hoping a rare den spawns which has a 5% chance of having him. A super fucking low capture rate doesn’t help. rather attempt getting shineys honesty, at least they don’t fuck up a competitive mon’s value assuming g max forms are even legal.

Sick. Now, do we know it is the hyper rare mon before we enter the battle (like how we can see legends sprite before we talk to them), or does the RNG happen as the mon appears. So, do I have to save before every single encounter, or do I get to see which mon i am about to engage and then save only when I see the hyper rare mon I want?

Yes, the sprite will be different.
The process is basically:
Save in front of an empty den
Throw in a wishing piece and soft reset until you get a rare spawn
Save before starting the raid
Soft reset until you catch it

its a 1% or less chance for his raid to spawn when you use a wishing stone on his specific den
and then its still going to break out of the ball you throw

so unless something about this changes, literally 99.99% of the playerbase will never catch a non-rateup non-gift gmax pokemon without some form of exploit involved. gamefreak made the chances ridiculously low because they want you to come back every month for the 3 or 4 rate-up gmaxes.
