Boomers would just give their kids a remote or game console to keep them busy so they don’t have to spend time with them. This distant young people from families and made them think Mickey Mouse or Ronald McDonald were their friends.
Likewise, companies saw boomers doing this, so they targeted families more often, which also lead to a back and forth cycle with boomer parents, and the more out of control it got, the more children were affected. Those children also growing up to do the same with Gen Z and still not growing out of children’s stuff.
And as an added bonus, cursing being disallowed in school (and also religious groups too) made children believe there is such a thing as wrong think, and thus making children believe they should never think about anything they buy.
