I didn't even watch Suite Life on Disney Channel, I watched reruns on Saturday Morning TV. Don't remember the channel, but we had local antenna TV growing up, so Disney Channel was non-existent.

I just checked and it’s real. While it’s cool a “real celeb” plays Pokémon like a real fan, he alludes grimy business practices of the past and installments every year. I keep asking myself where people have been. Does he mean Let’s Go? No one made you buy Let’s Go, and GameFreak clearly stated they worked on it in tandem with SWSH to get a handle on the switch. The new games would largely be the same or possibly worse if they hadn’t been using that Kanto template to figure out their new direction. Also this version every year blah blah blah is unproven to have any impact on the content or quality of the games. As far as we know the way these games were made has barely changed since GSC. Remakes have always come out very shortly after new gens, and the “peak” of Pokémon had a gen with a third version and remakes all in one go. If the difference between BW2 and XY and USUM and SWSH is one year or two years I’m not sure why it really matters. If GameFreak really has a passion for developing the games they should release as they see fit.

Also it’s hard to take the criticism that these games are too easy seriously if you go back and replay the older games. Exp share for all does make it easier but mostly to actually use a full team without fucking grinding. Otherwise these have never been hard games for adults, particularly the more used to the core mechanics you are. Heals around all the time are barely a factor considering everyone just flew back to a PC when the team got low anyway and it was just a matter of time wasting. Your brain doesn’t *actually* want to stop the story and shit around back to some healing items in the middle of a dungeon. GameFreak should innovate their map design and story progression rather than making he games “difficult again” by not having your rival heal you.
