Thoughts? It would've been the perfect region to add a dragon and steel type one but instead we got Eevee but "chuNkky" to appeal to the cutesy uwu crowd who will stare it at for 2 seconds and never acknowledge it again.

It doesn't though. It's name is still Eevee and a lot of Pokemon got drastic design changes with their gigantimax but Eevee just looks like Eevee but fat.

Eeveelutions have actualy one official rule about their design and it's not about "special" type because it's not a thing for 5th generation now lol, but it's still pretty restrictive.
All Eeveelutions have the exact same base stats but reshuffled and there's just that much ways to set these numbers in a non-garbage ways. 60, 65, 65, 95, 110, 130 - sure you can set these numbers in few more non-ass ways, but clearly this number is finite and GF just can't shit out new eeveelutions every even generation.

It's a new design, new thing. Is it so hard to understand that evolution can be as vague as possible? Wishiwashi almost evolves, Type: Null evolved backwards. Why this """rule""" has to mean literal evolution? Maybe it always was "some new form eevee can become?

Because that's what eeveelutions are and that's what their rule has always been, literal evolutions. I could give you a pass if we were talking about a mega evolution for eevee, but changing your form for three turns hardly counts as an evolution.

For PVP, you would be surprised how many time whne Flareon came in, the enemy player switch to bring the counter, and when the counter come, they receive the Flame Charge, then directly after another move because now Flareon may outspeed them.

Sure you have much more effective fire physical pokémon to use, but Flareon IS playable in its current stat, not perfect and can be better, yes, but playable.
Glaceon is just not playable without a Choice Scarf?

Because they're evolutions. The rule of new evolutions is that it has to be a new evolution. Otherwise, if it's not an evolution... then it's not an evolution.

They dropped the ball hard with designs this gen. All three starters evos looked bad, the galar form evolutions were bad. A good chunk of the new mons were mediocre to bad. Usually I like at least half of a region's pokedex but I can only say I like about 15 mons this gen. If we actually got a dragon type eevee and they fucked it up and made it look like shit like over half of the mons this gen do, I would've hated myself forever

That's literally every Eeveelution though. With few exceptions they're all incredibly generic "cute elemental fox/dog/cat thing" that only exist to look cute in marketing and nothing else.
