Eurogamer is forgetting that Sun and Moon’s sell through was over a week of sales. Europe got the game a week late. So the sellthrough for over a week of sales was 7.2

Sword and shield did 6 million in 3 days.

Because we haven't gotten the full sales for the first week yet, only the first three days. Once we do then we'll see which one sold more.

SwSh has four days to sell 1.2 million units to catch up. Or rather, it had four days and we have yet to find out if it managed it.

Game sales are naturally frontloaded anon. While legs can be high, you won’t get as high as launch if supply is fine. Do you believe XY would have sold another 2 million if it released on Friday?

The only gens with worldwide releases without delays were Gen 6 and Gen 8

Gen 6 sold 4M in 2 days
Gen 8 sold 6M in 3 days

If we can include regions with delays then SM and DP both outsold SS

It's retarded to just give 0 sales for Europe in the first 5 days of SM just because of delays. Might as well not compare at all then.
