>>41439846Gen 3 was the first gen where official competitions started, they didn't know how key was ditto going to be for getting into competitive. Now that they try and make easier to get into competitive each gen, I think ditto is going to be a must for each new gen.
Also, its merch sells crazy. It even got a exclusive line of it transforming into other pokémon, few pokémon have toys lines focused on them, ditto is not going anywhere
