I agree. This would be fine, but then this would have to apply to older games to (like how Platinum's postgame is 90% rehashed from Emerald). However when we do this, a lot of common narratives fall apart (gen 4 would probably be somewhere at the bottom of all other gens)

That’s a shit answer because the pentagon existed and Gamefreak is fully capable of restricting mons without neutering what’s available in the game. There’s even an argument to be made there of different banlists every year to shake things up.

It's a rushed out cashgrab that had absolutely embarrassing marketing and PR full of lies and half truths. It's the shortest mainline game to date with an absolutely nothing story. Wasted and under developed characters (even by normal Pokemon standards). The only post game is doing raids in the wild area forever. The wild area is a technical mess that runs like an early 00s f2p MMO. Dynamax is the worst and most half-assed gimmick yet. All of this adds up to a lazy cheap product. But even with all this, the average casual would still be willing to give it a pass because "OMG IT'S POKEMON". But then they cut half the dex which killed that potential willingness to sweep it under the rug. Especially when they made up lies about cutting Pokemon to improve animations and models and then turn around and use animations and models from XY. Still using trash stock move animations for everything like headbutt being a kick animation (even for new mons). It's a god damn shitshow. But hey, at least Charizard is here.
