Also Rose couldn't wait a single day for something 1000years in the future. Then gets sent to jail.

I don't get how by the fourth gym it's not very obvious they're the bad guys. It's obvious starting from Nessa's gym onward yet people here say it came out of nowhere.

I'm disappointed Rose ended up being an antagonist like literally everyone and their mom predicted. It would have been better if Eternatus coincidentally woke up while he was doing tests or something instead of Rose purposefully trying to restart Darkest Day on the day of the tournament like a retard

There you are, nearly all of the problems with the plot go away. You'd have to get rid of Piers, which is a shame, but oh well. A retread of SM's storyline would be better than what we got.

He was hired to collect wishing stars, it's never explained why and Rose is friendly with you while Bede is an ass to everyone else. The one time Bede goes too far Rose and Oleana fire him. This says nothing about Rose, Oleana, or Marcos Cosmo only about Bede.

he was a fucking joke though, sword and shield guy were better antagonists than him
all rose does is "waah i can't wait 1 day" and then you have one (1) fight with him and 1 or 2 fights to fix what he's done and it's over
no grunt fights, no HQ, no fights earlier, just nothing, he doesn't even have any kind of evil intentions, oleana doesn't have any despite building up a secret cult or whatever, he's just too impatient to wait 1 day and that's literally all there is to it
it's literally nothing. it's a complete fucking disappointment.
they get so much buildup, oleana obviously has some kind of problems and she along with rose fucked with bede, and rose owns everything in galar so he has a lot of power to do something, and then they do absolutely fucking nothing at all

to top it off team yell also does absolutely nothing and doesn't even have an hq or leader (they do, but it's just a gym)

Absolutely this. Fuck the wild area, that shit is just a shitty hub for raids.
I'd rather just have the raids selectable from a soulless menu while having actual caves, dungeon and secret places in the routes
Instead, I get a shitty hub world and hallway routes

I thought there was gonna be multiple wild areas based on the various biomes, grassland, desert, snow area, fire area, etc but it ended up being just one giant grassland with a tiny desert area.

You cant imagine my disappointment when I figured that out

The story was fucking nonsense. I understood what was happening, but never why. After literally nothing happening from the 4th to the 8th gym beyond a mysterious earthquake that the game itself handwaves away. Unlike with most of the other "evil" entities in Pokemon, there's no time dedicated to explicating these characters' goals, perspectives, etc.

I think the game really missed out on an opportunity to double down on the gym tournament thing and comment on corruption in professional sports and the idolization of athletes. It would have added depth to Rose and Leon individually and as a pair, given Oleana a reason to interfere with the player character, and worked well with both Hop's disillusionment and Marnie / Piers / Team Yell's efforts to effectively rig the competition in her favor. Really dropped the fucking ball because all the pieces are there for a story that could actually have meaning for Pokemon's target demographic.

the whole plot could be easily solved:
>the energy crisis starts to show from the start of the game, the train dropping you in the wild area could be the perfect set up
>each and every city or town has a visible plant with the macro cosmos emblem on it
>Spikemuth's lore is that they don't have enough energy for dynamaxing and keeping the city working, this leads to Marnie looking for Macro Cosmos' help by becoming the champion
>Bede's backstory is the same, but instead of being an arrogant cunt, he constantly praises Macro Cosmos' work for providing him what his family couldn't, he goes after the mural because he wants to help Rose in his Darkest Day research
>the climax has your protagonist and the three rivals against eternatus

I understand this is a facetious response, but legendaries don't necessarily have to be tied into world scale conflicts or supernatural catastrophes. In this case, the dogs could simply be looking out for the well being of the country and setting shit straight with the ongoing corruption.
