Guys I'm a poorfag and I can only buy one game for my Nintendo Switch. I've watched Pokemon Sword and Shield and Dragon Quest XI gameplays and I like both but I'm looking for a long and fun game, which one would you recommend?

Get dragonquest and find a romhack online to sate your pokemania
Either a difficulty+catch em all like the drayano hacks or something more elaboate like gaia that is a new story+region

Dragon Quest. The first act alone is twice as long as SwoShi, it looks nicer, it runs better, and the gameplay is deeper.

Dragon Quest is a good RPG but it will not scratch your Pokemon itch. Pokemon is kind of in its own category from other RPGs, no matter the quality of each individual generation

Long and fun game go with dq. Pokemon is more of a competitive trading card game, but instead of cards its monsters.

Buy digimon, you get 2 games for the price of 1. Also, objectively better than this generation, just don't buy pokemon, it was a mistake for me. I've completed game and pokedex in less than 40 hours

Even if Pokemon was a good 6/10 the new Dragon Quest is at least an 8
(also it has good post game, voice acting, not shiet graphics, a bunch of difficulty options, y'know stuff new gen games have that pokemon sorely lacks)

DQ XIS destroys Sword/Shield in terms of both quality and quantity. It's a much better game overall, so I'd definitely recommend it over Pokemon, even if you've never played DQ before. XIS was my first DQ game and I've been loving it.

DQXI was 100 hours to beat Parts 1 and 2, the main game, and a couple more to beat the Part 3 postgame. This was on PS4, I know the Switch version has more content and waifus.

Personally I thought DQ was great and really charming.

Hack your Switch, pirate both games. There's literally no reason you shouldn't do this, if you are a poorfag then you would have not had money for a lot of games anyway.
