It's called mega evolution. Too bad they fucked it up by giving it to pokemon that didn't need it before completely removing it for an even worse system.

The real crime is that mega-mawile will never be obtainable. At least with normal Pokemon there's a chance that they'll get put into the dex, but to bring back megas would mean they have to bring back mega evolutions and we all know that they're never going to bring mega evolution back.
