holy shit, I just got pokerus in shield
how do I spread it and make sure I don't lose it? if I can pass it to pokemon then trade I will

Yeah trading should keep it. I got Pokerus in Black 2 and transferred it to X, so it can go inter generational too.

First step, delete Pokemon Shield you fuckin' sheep.

But seriously, the Pokerus virus will be spreadable to other Pokemon for two days before it turns into the variett that can't spread. You can stick a Pokemon with the active form of Pokerus in the PC and it won't turn into the non-spreadable kind.

Tl;dr stick your Pokerus in the PC refrigerator before it spoils like rotten meat

okay, so it's based on days and not battles? I guess I'll spread it to as many shitmons in my box as possible while I can. how does the game keep track of days if I pull an infected mon out of the box in a month's time?

It just pauses the counter while they’re in the box iirc. So it’ll resume the countdown from wherever it left off when you put them in the box, but you shouldn’t need more than 48 hours to spread it before boxing them again and the others you infect can also infect, so infect a couple with your first dude and then it won’t matter if it times out and becomes the unspreadable sort because you’ll have like 10 other infected moms in the box ready to go when you wanna spread it again.

OP you should spread it to as many shitmons as possible then trade me of of them. Alsl make sure you always have at least one Pokemon with active PokeRus in the PC.

I'm spreading it to some eevees now. I bred a shiny a few days ago so I have boxes of rejects. I'll pass one onto you if you want. Seems to take a while to spread it so I can't give it to tons of people but drop a code and I'll trade you one now
