No, seriously. Apologists and Shills are fake fans or hyper-casuals. Make an actual game with actual challenge and they'll suddenly have never played Pokemon in their LIFE. Remember, at best, these guys played RBY for 20 minutes in Best Buy when they were 7. They haven't played to completion a single pokemon game released before XY, if they even beat XY.
Quality games will scare off apologists because they have nothing to apologize for. They'll get angry that the game doesn't cater to them and then WE become the apologists, except our apologies are closer to "git gud".
