So I've decided to compile a list of pros and cons for the new games but take this with a grain of salt as I haven't played them and all this information is what I gathered from as many sources as possible.
PROS
>new pokemon, moves, type combinations, abilities, items, regional variants, and updated animations (although these can be considered part and parcel for any new generation)
>some areas have high quality look to them
>models have new textures
>split version gym exclusives
>human characters more expressive
>overworld models to scale
>new mechanics like camp, curry, D-max/G-max
>Wild Area implementation
>raids
>new shiny particle effect
