To be honest it makes sense you have to wear this while you're doing gym battles and the final tournment, because that's your rank in the game, you're only someone who's challenging gyms and for that using they're uniforms. The problem is when you actually finish the game, beating Leon and being the new Champion. There they should've given you the ability of choosing the sporty outfit you want to use in the next league tournaments.
