While the "stages" themselves are correct (You can indeed be in denial or angry when grieving), the pseudo-science part is calling them stages as if you will necessarily go through one after another. You might go through only one of them, or multiple of them in any order. Even the author herself says the commonly known model is wrong. Plus, the study was done on people in the terminal stage grieving over their own impending death, yet is the model is commonly used for people who have lost someone else, which is a completely different matter.
