You can just use every Pokemon, with cut ones appearing as they did in the old games without anything new. You can have Z-moves and a mega, but they won't allow you to have a dynamax.

A gen7+ is pretty much what I expected. I do still wish I could see what would happen if movesets from cut Pokemon were somehow updated to gen 8 but this is probably the least turbulent way to do a natdex format so it's not all bad.

As much as I would want Brave Bird Aerodactyl or DD Krookodile, I can understand why they didn't change any cut mons. Gamefreak has a habit of making absolutely absurd decisions when it comes to movesets, and there's no real way to "know" what every Pokemon would get.

Yeah. It was more a gripe at Game Freak than anything Smogon/Showdown could do. I wouldn't want to put it on them to put together the shattered remnants of this generation anyway.
