The Galar dex contains 16 bug evolutionary lines (17 if you count Shedinja as a different line, and 18 if you count Skorupi/Drapion as a bug line).
These are (by fully evolved member):
1. Orbeetle
2. Butterfree
3. Vikavolt
4. Galvantula
5. Crustle
6. Ninjask/Shedinja
7. Vespiquen
8. Centiskorch
9. Ribombee
10. Araquanid
11. Shuckle
12. Golisopod
13. Escavalier
14. Accelgor
(14.5. Skorupi)
15. Durant
16. Frosmoth
40 bug evolutionary lines exist (43 if Mothim/Wormadam, Beautifly/Dustox, and Shedinja/Ninjask are separate). 40% of all bug evolutionary lines made it into Galar.
The bug lines that were introduced this gen are:
Orbeetle, Centiskorch, and Frosmoth.
Number of bug evolutionary lines introduced per generation:
Kanto: 6
Johto: 6
Hoenn: 7 (Beautifly/Dustox = 1.5, Ninjask/Shedinja = 1.5)
Sinnoh: 4 (Wormadam/Mothim = 1.5, Skorupi = 0.5)
Unova: 9
Kalos: 1
Alola: 6
Galar: 3
Galar has introduced the 2nd fewest new bug lines. I haven't checked, but I will assume the fully evolved Galar bugs have the highest base stat total of any gen's bugs.
Of the 10 bug pokemon with the highest base stat total, #5, #6, #8, #9, and #10 made it into Galar (Golisopod, Centiskorch, Orbeetle, Shuckle, and Vikavolt).
The others in the top 10 were:
#1 Genesect, #2 Pheromosa = #2 Buzzwole, #4 Volcarona, and #7 Yanmega. Leavanny, Heracross, Scizor, Pinsir, and Scyther are all tied for #10 with a BST of 500.
Including megas, Mega Pinsir, Mega Scizor, and Mega Heracross tie Genesect for #1, and bump the top Galar bugs down to #8, #9, #11, and #12.
