Do you really think you would enjoy playing through gen 1 moon cave now?

A puzzle cave after gym 1, that gives you nothing to fight gym 2, with zubats interrupting you every 5 steps?

I always hated slogging through Mt Moon, the dark cave, and Victory Road every single time I played RBY. I'd equally hate Silph but I basically memorized the simplist paths to get to the end if I'm overleveled or find the healing bed if I needed to train.I'm not nearly as bothered by the "simple" routes as I should be other than the fact that they're way too short to casually run into every Pokemon. I never encountered Ponyta in my walk through the forest in Shield, for instance.

I really don't know why the Kanto games don't get more shit for their dungeons. They're some of the most boring ones in the series.

mt. moon is a decent training opportunity for your non-starter pokemon at that point. Especially when Misty's pokemon are kind of high leveled in comparison

You need an area to train for the next gym, Mt. Moon makes sure you do. Also, you can get a Clefairy.

Why not? It's a tunnel but there are dead ends and a loop to make things not just a straight corridor.

There's a compromise between the monotony of gen I/II dungeons and having hallways as dungeons. I think Gen V was the best in this regard, as there were still pretty lengthy designs for dungeons and yet there were usually doctor trainer classes that would heal up your team if you needed it. However since they were confined to one place, it was usually better to keep at least some healing items on you like Full Heals or Super Potions and also have Escape Ropes if you there to get a specific Pokemon and then wanted to leave. I have never enjoyed going through Mt. Moon, Rock Tunnel or the Seafoam Islands because of the fact there's just a bunch of nothing in between you and the goal, no real reason to try and not get out as fast as possible.

Because they exist in a series where multiple games now have almost no dungeons at all. A subpar dungeon is better than no dungeon at all.

I didn't like the Gen V dungeons, or at least B/W1. The ones that existed were way too simple, not even a kid could get lost in those. B/W2 handled it better though with places like the sewers.
