i didn't care for it until now, but sword/shield has some really fucking awkward moments without voice acting. the introduction and piers' "singing" were two of the major ones, especially since they still had the crowd cheering

I don't like how only two and a half (gmax Meowth but not regular) Pokemon have voices while the majority don't. Game Freak should just commit to one or the other at this point.
I'd probably mute voices if they gave them to NPCs though.

The most I would want would be to have some simple 'eh' or 'hmm' at the start of a voiceline, just so it's not completely dead air. Basically just use the Mario approach

I know three houses gets a a lot of flak ( and rightly so) but voice acting was not an issue with the game. Great in some areas passable in others but never bad. I did hear BOTW was awful tho.
