>>41519174>its fine for every ground type to run earthquake but not every normal type to run return>refer to earthquake still being in the gamenot to mention all of these moves you mentioned are just different bp/accuracy tradeoffs, there are stronger normal type moves that have worse accuracy that exist that fill the "strongest move", return isn't the strongest, just the most reliable.
nobody runs return in doubles.
hidden power being removed without any alternatives kills a lot of mons viability because they relied on it to cover their counters. that being said, a lot of those mons aren't even in the galar dex in the first place, which also just goes to show the shitty state of swsh. not to mention the idea of "removing something because its poorly designed" fundamentally goes against game freak's design philosophies, in which they only implement things that are poorly designed.
and they don't have those options, or they haven't been added, and very little proof exists that they will, so this point is moot. not to mention thats like 7+ coverage moves for every mon in the game, which is too hard for a small indie dev like game freak, please understand.
i think the pursuit point is kind of fair on one hand, but also running pursuit in the first place shackles you to a 40 bp move that is only helpful in securing a knock out, so it kind of is """"mindgames""""" in a way. having a move that does that certainly adds to the nuance of the game which is important in an era where gf is being accused of dumbing down their game too much.
obviously there are things in the game that are pretty broken, but hidden power and pursuit are pretty low base power moves. similarly, rather than removing frustration and return, they could've just nerfed the moves instead of outright removing them. it was pretty cool to have a move that scaled with happiness.
