Back when it first came out, I didn't play it, but I was surrounded by people who did. One person in particular I sort of felt enjoyed it as loudly as they did to exacerbate the feeling of being excluded. When I tried to talk about the game, I got shit on for it, and it felt like I was being told to go away. It really killed my motivation to give it a shot, despite thinking some of the concepts were cool.
Also I just wasn't into Toriel and the other characters that looked like her.
