These islands did things ranging from harvesting more beans, growing berries, passive EV training, collecting rare items, shit like that.
Sometimes wild pokemon would show up on the bean growing island and eventually want to join your team.
I thought it was neat seeing your pokemon just hang out with one another, with Mohn sometimes telling you little things about them like if they were eating berries they were supposed to be harvesting or if they wanted to join your party.
Felt like they weren't just sitting in a box doing nothing.
