The official website said chaining only works for the yellow aura "brilliant" pokemon it doesnt nothing for shinys. Just knock out 500 of the same species and ur good.

I was just playing a normal playthrough of Alpha Sapphire and a shiny Abra appeared at Granite Cave.

Needless to say that he broke out of the pokeball and teleported. It was the first shiny that appeared naturally to me, without chaining or some other method.

Shinies hatched from eggs have a 15/16 chance to have the normal sparkle while Shinies caught in the wild have a 15/16 chance of having square sparkles from what I heard.

Chaining is a mechanic for "Brilliant" Pokemon, which have good IVs and egg moves.

It isn't a thing for shininess though, which is purely impacted by total encounters. See: >>41534812

Doesn't need to be a ditto, you just need a foreign language pokemon as one of the pair.

obviously a foreign language ditto is by far the most versatile, but I ended up using two sobble's with decent IV's one japanese, because it was easier than finding a ditto.

I caught a wild shiny Corvisquire and evolved it obviously into a shiny corviknight so I guess thats why it says i've encountered 2, I couldnt see any other shinies in my dex.

At this point it is an estimate. I reliably encounter 4 in a minute. 100 minutes = ~400 encounters.
If I were to precisely count it would be a lot more accurate, that is why I stick to guesstimates.

Got a shiny Eevee from breeding while trying to get perfect IVs at 120~ eggs, pleasant surprise! First ever shiny n one I really wanted!

Not sure what to evolve it into, Vaporeon is my favorite eveelution but I like the Shiny designs of Umbreon/Sylveon alot.

Dunno if anyone has noticed this/mentioned this before but the league card doesn't actually track shiny pokemon found the way you would expect. What it actually tracks is the amount of shiny dex entries you currently have, this means the count doesn't go up if you encounter/breed a shiny you have already encountered before however that the count will increase when you evolve a shiny you have not encountered the evolution of or if you receive a shiny you do not already have in a trade.

Noticed this after breeding a couple shiny Rookidees and not having the counter increase.

I'm still looking for my sweet blue imp. Considering beating the main story for Oval charm so I can keep a steady supply of eggs coming, even though I wanted shiny Grimmsnarl on my Champion team. I think I'm about 26ish boxes in, releasing Imps as I go to contain the eggs to one box since I still have 7 boxes of breedjects of them still and only a few boxes of free space left. Almost wish Home was out so I could dump stuff off and make room, but at least my breedjects are helping me fill my dex. Got me to 228 in the dex, so I'm not complaining much.

I use the japanese one for MM with non-foreign 'mons and then use the US one for MM with foreign 'mons.

And that was actually my first corviknight, so thanks for that.
