Am I the only one who prefers the friend, hau and hop, over the dickish asshole rival when battling? I like to see them grow(for Pokemon standards at least) and actually be a positive part of my players life rather than masturbate over the thought of beating a dickhead. Im mostly referring to rivals like Gary and silver, Barry and Cheren were great imo, they weren't really abrasive to you and more that quirky friend who likes battling with you can anything.
