Raihan beat me the first time because I had no answer to ground and focused the wrong pokemon. I didn't skip trainers, rotated my team around to keep whoever was lowest-level getting the most experience, no battle items, no camp. The game wasn't hard, but I won because I tried, not just because victories were handed to me for showing up like you imply. I lost plenty of pokemon to an opposing pokemon managing to tank an SE hit and then smack me with an unexpected coverage move.
