Honestly, I think it's just new toy syndrome. If you compare Dragapult with Salamance, or even Garchomp it leaves a lot to be desired. You either go with it's subpar 100 SpA stat or gimp yourself with a Physical set.

Because they were broken as shit and extremely linear in their debut gen? Mence even got banned 1 gen later along Chomp.
