It feels like GF never tried to convey her backstory and motives so she came off as nothing more than an inexplicably crazy bitch who conveniently had a husband gone missing. (The whole idea that Nihilego's toxins was responsible is a hazy theory at best.) And worst of all, the narrative never gives her an opportunity to explain herself. It just spoonfeeds her actions through her kids so GF doesn't have to go through the effort of actually developing her character. Just what the hell happened?
