Is there anyone else playing an older pokemon game right now? I don't have a switch so I can't get Sword or Shield, but the talk about how older games are better got me an itch. I really want to replay Pokémon Black now. Do you have that itch and if so, what pokemon game are you playing?

I'm actually replaying all the regions in order. I've never played any third version other than Crystal and never played HGSS or the Unova games, so most of them still feel new to me. I'm also restricting myself to only using mons that debuted in those regions. I've gone through LeafGreen, SoulSilver, Emerald, and am now doing Platinum. It's been pretty fun.

I played through Shield and I'm disappointed, so now I'm gonna do a White 2 challenge mode pussy-nuzlocke. Basically making a team as I go, only catching first Pokemon per route, on set and no items in battles. Doing a regular nuzlocke with all this is too much for me, I just wanna have fun.

Oh you're going to love Unova then if you are restricting yourself. In Black and White 1, you only get to play as the new pokemon. The older ones are still in the game, but you only get them after you beat the story mode.

Should I do BW1 before going to BW2? I've just been doing this "best" version of each gens but I hear BW2's story is more like a sequel to BW1 than a different version of it?

Never finished ORAS (but I looked up the post-game stuff so I knew what was different), the boredom kept building up until it peaked at Fortree City, then I just replayed Emerald instead. Recently started a new Black 2 file as well, though I'm looking to get White 2 if possible.

You should probably do BW1 first if possible if you think you'll care at all about the story. You can even transfer over story details from BW1 to BW2, which unlocks stuff like battles and a more personalized script.
