They're suing the leakers because they have to in order to protect their image and discourage future leaks.

The leaks also fucked up their marketing plans.

6 million is ass for a Pokemon game. The lowest selling game to start a gen was BW with roughly 15.7 mil. SS selling less than half is fucking amazing.

Go ahead and sue leakers for leaking, but there is no irreparable damage. Post leak there was only 1 trailer teasing 2 new mons so I don't know how it fucked up marketing, it continued as normal.

Their intention was to generate fan interest and engagement by keeping things secret until release. Unlike how they spoiled the entire game before release last gen.

The trailer showed pretty much fucking nothing. It felt rushed, like they had intended to show more, but cut most of it due to the leaks.

Don't forget falsifying review scores for accolades. GameXplain stopped using numbered ratings for years now, and even if you were to make a numbered equivalent to their "Liked It" rating it wouldn't come close to 4/5. Alternatively, the onus could be on GX if they wanted to give a game a more generous sounding number equivalent to appease Nintendo/TPC, which would be a HUGE sellout of their principle to not use numbers.
