Cooperajah is based on an Indian elephant, and the copper aspect partially comes from the orange splatter-like markers on Indian elephants' trunks and body. It also looks a bit like an excavator with the large trunk.
The G-Max Copperajah has that huge trunk with those growths that resemble a coal mining excavator, gigantic machines that look like massive saw blades. Excavating seems to be the theme here, so it's interesting that Copperajah's Gigantamax form resembles a Mayan statue. Dug up Mayan artifacts are often made of copper, and have the tall, blocky look thag Cooperajah has in this form. Indian mythology has Ganesh, but it seems like they purposely went away from depicting Hindu gods with Copperajah.
