Because it consistently attacks to break barriers and has a focus sash so it's not instantly killed half the time.
Too many times you end up with
>Solrock that does nothing but buff itself
>Clefairy spamming healing moves when nobody is hurt
>Mons loaded with nothing but Normal/Fighting moves who mysteriously only appear against ghost types
