but still, not all regulations are necessary
ready for my anecdote? this guy I know had a crack in the oil tank outside his house. It was very minor, not even a spill, but there were some drops on the concrete slab under the tank
so he called someone to have it patched and apparently they need to report it to the EPA
well the EPA then comes and orders him to excavate his whole side yard going 10 feet down to remove any possible contamination in the soil. It cost him thousands of dollars fully at his own expense or he would face criminal charges. All because some oil from his heater dripped on to some land he owned with no evidence that it ever actually made it to the soil itself.
Those are the kinds of regulations I'm happy got rolled back
