But there is no way you can tell me that Sw/Sh is worse than LGPE, LGPE is a rehash, it brings nothing new, it's Kanto AGAIN, with barely anything new to explore, with lack of any depth whatsoever, with changes on the best part of R/B/Y story (being Blue, the jerk rival), with less than 200 Pokémon in the game, with literally no post-game since there is no battle tower, the dex is small as fuck and there is no reason to play that game online.
The only good thing about LGPE was the visuals and the overworld encounters (which is present in Sw/Sh) everything else is worthless. You can argue that Sw/Sh costs more for less when compared with other games on the franchise, but compared to LGPE, Sw/Sh costs the same and has more and better content overall.
