What did this even mean? There was one mention of minor league existing for gym leaders with a high failure rate and never spoken of again.

Why didn't they add some of the gym leaders to the plot so there is actually something in the game that tells you there's 18 gyms even if you can't challenge them all? Why would you mention that during hype season if there is nothing about that in the game except a few logos on clothes only you wear, and only when you are not on your bike or in a gym?

The only thing that will make them stop is when fans stop buying the games every year.

If they'd follow the Zelda development cycle and release only one proper mainline game every five years they'd make five times less money, because fans will buy literally any Pokémon game regardless of quality.
