Is there a more perverted practice than ''shiny hunting''?

Let me explain: shinies were, in their nascent iterations, something mysterious, unexplainable, almost completely unmentioned (in-game at least), and not least a badge of honour and fortune. To have found a shiny was an incredible stroke of luck, a prized possession to carry around on your cartridge, a sign of your worth as a player, since you were prudent enough to recognize its exceptional and anomalous status, which led you to capture it. This feature, something players held dearly, has been completely misused by so called ''shiny hunters''. Instead of revelling in the mystery of such rare, miscoloured creatures, they turn the phenomenon into a business, simply waiting around in the same patch of grass or resetting infront of that Regirock until the unmistakable shine effect appears. The problem is - the Regirock isn't special anymore. It was not by an incredible stroke of luck, catching you off guard, paralyzing you, it was just a particular waste of time, not being an organic part of the experience of the game. They're supposed to be rare gems accidentally crossing your path, becoming dearly loved party members if you manage to capture them, not something you can grind to obtain in front of a camera while overreacting to something you knew you were gonna get anyway.
