>>41587836The only reason I wasn't disappointed was because I expected what it was lol. I liked Gen 7 overall, but the handholding and obnoxious dialogue about the value of friendship were negatives. For a long time, the games had been moving in this direction, but it had reached new levels with Gen 7. Masuda and co have the mistaken impression that kids today are different than the kids of yesteryear, and this has motivated their excessive simplification of an already simple game series. Gen 8 really epitomizes this from what I can see. Gen 7 still resembles a classic Pokemon game for the most part. They left me with perhaps too high hopes for the future.
