I absolutely adore Kanto and it's 151 Pokemon, definitely better than Galar 81 Pokemon, RBY it's just so comfy to play.
Also gotta love the glitches.

I had fun with it as a side experience when Gold was my first game.

The Game Boy sound hits my nostalgia like a truck. It also felt magical in the sense that there was always a new glitch to discover, it was like finding extra content.

G1 is always really comfy to play, but the biggest issue for me personally is lack of variety early game, and some Pokemon just straight up have crappy learnsets. Nidoking is bae though.

G1 had so many rumors and glitches that it was impossible to tell which ones were real and which ones were fake. Promo material for movies with upcoming G2 Pokemon didn't help (remember when we called Marill Pikablu?). Then you had THETRUCK, Pokegods, Ho-Oh from the first episode of the anime, etc

Then, MissingNo turned out to be a legitimate glitch that also duped your items. Once the bullshit roundabout way to find him was found, that opened the floodgates of "But what ELSE could be real?"

Sure. Bkut you will definitively notice the small as fuck space in the bag (every other rpg has unlimited space most of the time), needing to save everytime you changed box, can't catch anything when a box is full and of course, the annoying as hell linking which was horrible. That's why they made stadium.

Even if Sword and Shield have more Pokémon, are less bugged, and, uh, do they have more content? I guess they must since so much of the battle system and mechanics are carried over from the previous 23 years even if the single-player experience is devoid of anything meaningful.

Well anyway, even if Sword and Shield are better in several regards, Gen I feel like games that were made by real people with passion.

The worst offender is the PC box. I make it a point to switch once a box starts to hit 15-17 Pokemon, since if you switch at 20, it makes deposit/withdraw super awkward.

Bag space isn't really an issue either, I just hate that there's no auto sort. Easiest way to alleviate bag issue is to deposit un-used TMs and HMs and keep your healing items condensed to things like Fresh Water, Lemonade, Full Heals, and eventually Full Restores.

This, part of it is because Pokemon was still wondrous. It's expected now, everyone knows about Pokemon, you can be into it as a small child right now but you can't be six years old and DISCOVER Pokemon for the first time and have it change your life.

Do you literally get paid to make excuses for gamefreak? Do you really think it would've been impossible to make something as basic as a separate inventory for key items? A sub-inventory for TMs? If the games weren't so poorly developed, these limitations could've been overcome within the system's limitations.

I've been through the kanto games at least a couple dozen times thanks to restarts and later emulation. Most of these aren't noticable or imparing in any way. Several of these are "intended" but are a combo of GB limitations or weird early balance issues that get ironed out in Stadium or Gen 2. The Counter glitch described here is in Gen 2, not Gen 1, but Gen 1 has its own Counter glitch.

Mew glitch works, I think you have to use a different Pokemon to trigger it than RB's. Missingno doesn't work at all the normal ways and if you summon it using the Mew glitch instead it'll crash the game 99 times out of 100.

Nah it works the exact way as it does in R/B. Yellow Missingno you have to summon a specific variation of Missingno to avoid crashing but I don't remember which. If you wanna glitch a lot I would recommend just sticking with RB even if Yellow has a lot going for it.
