Need to watch it again, I recall generally liking it aside from the prolonged climax with the blocks and was a bit taken aback when its seemed to be panned. Thought the city was a good take on the vague cities we saw in official art, it found a clever way to do an alien invasion story with Deoxys without turning him into a villain, and pretty much everything with Rayquaza. I guess the story with the original little boy never really resolved, aside from giving Ash multiple chances to look a like a dick.
