Honestly my biggest issue that for an exclusive I just wish there was more used potential/slight type difference between Flapple and Appletun

The only reason you give a shit is because Gens 1 and 2 made dragon out to be the COOL typing, with it's popular trainers, multiple resistances, and few weaknesses.

to you "Dragon" type is just a seal of approval. The game would be busted as shit if you were handed a dragon type starter. The game would be busted as shit if one of the most common fishable pokemon turned into a dragon. Aerodactyl isn't even vaguely based on a fucking dragon.

desu I'm starting to think it was more because of Lance (which uses all of the examples I've added)

But still, nice assumptions. I'm fine with dragon being such an exclusive type early on not being limited to late/mid game with the addition of fairy types. I just needed a good reason why Applin was a dragon type and I got one with the wyrm in the apple thing.
